At the end of 2003 the Hertie Foundation announced the establishment of the Hertie School of Governance, a professional school for Public Policy in Berlin with a uniquely European focus. In Spring 2004 the Hertie School hosted an international symposium on The Role of the State in the 21st Century, positioning itself as a new player in Berlin's public dialogue on governance. In the same year the School hosted a first round of Executive Seminars. The Master of Public Policy Programme was launched in 2005.
The Hertie School’s story cannot be told by one person or even one team. It is made up of countless experiences, perspectives, and ideas. Over the past months we have been racking our brains to put together just a handful of the stories, facts, milestones, and adventures that make us who we are. You can find these at 10years.hertie-school.org Join us in celebrating a decade of pursuing and shaping good governance.
Students, Alumni, Staff and Friends of the Hertie School: If you have any memories or anecdotes you would like to see shared on the anniversary site, please get in touch with us.
For the best possible chances to qualify for these, prospective students must submit their complete application by the first deadline, 1 February 2014 for the Master of Public Policy and Doctoral Programme and 15 March 2014 for the Executive Master of Public Management.
