Isabel Sophia Steinweg

MPP Class of 2011

How did your time at the Hertie School prepare you for the career that you are now pursuing?

It equipped me with intercultural and interdisciplinary knowledge. The things which mattered most for my professional development were the different assignments and the discussions with fellow students and professors.

Where did you do an internship? How did this experience enhance your studies and/or prepare you for your career path?

I did my internship at the Press Unit of the S & D Group at the European Parliament. It was a valuable experience which furthered my interest in the field of political communication.

How did your studies at the Hertie School prepare you to work at the interface of the private, public and civil society sectors?

The broad range of seminar topics and the diversity of both the student body and the faculty were definitively helpful to understand the challenges marking the interface of the three pillars. The assignments are designed in a way that helps students to prepare for their professional life. Furthermore, the international character of the Hertie School is probably one of the most important features of the MPP programme.
