New Book | Kurt Biedenkopf shares his perspectives on the Euro

The Hertie School has published a volume of essays Der Weg zum Euro: Stationen einer verpassten Chance, by its Honorary Chairman, Kurt Biedenkopf.

Biedenkopf, had been decidedly skeptical in the years preceding the introduction of the Euro. The conception of the common European currency finds careful scrutiny and precise criticism in the essays in this volume. Yet, Biedenkopf retains a deeply constructive attitude towards the Euro consistently insisting on its necessity. The selected texts seek to answer the question of how much Europe is required for the Euro.
