There are several housing options available in Berlin. Please be aware that for all housing arrangements you will need to pay a deposit that will be paid back to you when you move out again. If you wish to change housing, please note that different cancellation periods might apply.
There are various student dormitories in Berlin. Some of our current students live in an apartment at one of the dormitories of the Ernst-Reuter-Foundation, called The House of Nations. The dormitories are located close to U- and S-Bahn Wedding. The commute to Hertie School of Governance is a convenient 6 station ride without having to change to another line. The apartments are between 16 m² and 26 m² and cost between EUR 210 and EUR 320 per month. They include a kitchenette and bathroom. All information can be found on their official website, which is also available in English.
In Berlin, it is common for students to share a private apartment and split the rent according to room size. This form of living is called “Wohngemeinschaft” or simply WG. Please keep in mind that if you wish to live in a shared apartment, in most cases you need to show up in person to meet your future flatmates.
