Short CV:
Nico Krisch teaches in the field of international law and international institutions. Before coming to the Hertie School, he was a Senior Lecturer at the Law Department of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Previous positions include a Junior Research Fellowship at Merton College, Oxford, a Hauser Research Scholarship and Visiting Fellowship at the Institute for International Law and Justice at New York University, and a Research Fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for International Law in Heidelberg, Germany. After studies in law and international relations in Berlin, Geneva and Heidelberg, he received a Ph.D. in law from the University of Heidelberg. He also holds the Diploma of European Law of the Academy of European Law in Florence, Italy. Nico Krisch is the author of Selbstverteidigung und kollektive Sicherheit (Self-defense and Collective Security, 2001) and of articles on the United Nations, hegemony in international law, and the legal order of global governance. He is currently pursuing projects on the role of constitutionalist ideas in a fragmented global legal order and on global public law.
