Certificates

Professionals who would like to improve or acquire certain public management competences often do not have the time to follow a complete a master‘s programme. The certificates of the Hertie School provide a practical solution. By combining selected seminars, participants can obtain one of the following five certificates that focus on a certain key competence:

I. Certificate in Public Sector Leadership and Management
II. Certificate in Public Financial Management and Methods
III. Certificate in Intersectoral Management
IV. Certificate in Public Sector Modernisation
V. Certificate in Communication Management

Each certificate requires the successful completion of three seminars and one skills course ( a total of 11 days of presence in Berlin). Participants must allot time for seminar preparation and the writing of a follow-up assignment. The skills courses do not require any preparation or additional work.

With a certificate, participants earn 10 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits. All credits earned can be transferred to the Executive Master of Public Management programme, should participants consider enrolment in the programme at a later stage. The certificate programme must be completed within two years.

Registration is possible throughout the year, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
