In times of increasing budget constraints, effective budget and financial management systems, as well as evidence-based decisions and policy making are central to the successful operation of all public sector organisations. This certificate was developed for public sector professionals with a non-financial background who would like to acquire up-to-date knowledge on how to improve public sector finances and how to make more effective decisions. Participants will become acquainted with issues such as fiscal challenges, budget flexibilisation, cut-back management, and performance budgeting. They will be introduced to evidence-based research and will learn techniques for improving public sector decision-making.
