Managing Organisational Change

Two possible dates:
5-7 March 2012
26-28 Nov 2012

Planned policy changes, technological progress, financial pressure as well as growing interaction with the actors from the private or the non-profit sector confront organisations with a rising number of challenges for strategic and organisational change. Equally, internal reasons like leadership change or dissatisfaction of staff may contribute to the change of targets, structure, processes or personnel management.

The course gives an understanding of different approaches to and pitfalls of organisational change. Participants will be equipped with the basic foundations of change management, with specific tools and approaches. The course will focus on organisational change within public organisations in different contexts, and will also contrast it to private sector practice. It looks at how to proceed when larger changes of governance, organisational structure, IT, controlling, budgeting, HRM or business processes are intended and have to be successfully implemented.
