Paid Educational Leave (Bildungsurlaub/Bildungsfreistellung)

In 11 of the 16 German Länder legislation allows employees to attend continuing education courses (paid educational leave – Bildungsurlaub) for several working days per year (e.g. in Berlin: ten days within a period of two years) with no loss in earnings, provided that certain conditions are fulfilled.
