The Hertie School of Governance will host the Global Governance 2022 (GG2022) programme from 26 – 30 August 2013. The event follows the first of its kind – Global Governance 2020 – which was hosted at the School in 2010. The programme was established by the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in response to pressing global challenges in the decades ahead.
GG2022 features a series of dialogues on the future of international institutions; and the central question that will be addressed this year is “How should the system of global governance be designed in the year 2022 and beyond in order to effectively tackle the most pressing global challenges of the future?” The GG2022 fellows, a group of 24 young leaders from China, Germany and the United States, will devise scenarios for the future of global governance in the areas of cyber security, development and energy governance through a series of working groups focusing on these three themes. They will also produce a range of publications ranging from op-eds to working group reports that present recommendations to policymakers and the wider public. In addition to the event in Berlin, dialogue sessions will be hosted in Beijing and Washington DC. [more]
