The Hertie School of Governance is an international teaching and research centre of excellence that prepares students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. Our faculty is international and interdisciplinary in outlook, research, and teaching. We offer analytically-challenging and practice-oriented courses on governance, policy analysis, management & leadership and help students grow intellectually in a professional, research-intensive environment, characterised by public debate and stewardship for the public good. The School actively engages in public debate with a wide range of events that bring together experts from academia, politics, business and civil society.
The quality of our students is our greatest asset. Year after year we have the privilege of working with students, who are extremely diverse in terms of national background, disciplines and interests; while sharing a remarkable commitment to academic and professional excellence, and a dedication to good governance.
The School was created in 2003, and, having established itself as one of the premier institutions of public policy teaching and research in Europe, can look back to a successful founding period. With the beginning of academic year 2012-13, we will launch a PhD programme in Governance, and continue the development of the School's Master and Executive Education programmes as well.
We warmly invite you to read more about the Hertie School and hope to welcome you on our campus in the near future.
