The Hertie School and around

The Hertie School of Governance is situated in the heart of Berlin between Checkpoint Charlie, Friedrichstraße station, Potsdamer Platz and Brandenburg Gate.

With around 3.4 million inhabitants from almost 190 nations it should come as no surprise that this dynamic city offers a wealth of things to explore. Whether you are interested in history, art, music, outdoor activities or nightlife - you will always be spoilt for choice. We have put together two online portals that will help you by compiling events and info about the city that you will be calling home during your time at the Hertie School:

Berlin's Public Transport System
First things first. Once you are a bit more settled in Berlin you will certainly find yourself heading to events all over the city. To save yourself time and frustration make a point of checking the route on the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe's (BVG) website. They offer an online journey planner that works out the quickest route to your destination.
The official tourism portal for Berlin offers a lot of information for tourists but their events section also includes a comprehensive overview of not-to-be-missed highlights on the annual Berlin calendar - definitely worth a look.
