Benedikt Meng holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Mannheim, Germany. As part of the MPP programme at the Hertie School of Governance and during his semester abroad at Georgetown University in Washington DC, Benedikt specialised in security and defence policy. His current research interest lies in planning conventional forces and counter-insurgency operations. He has worked in various positions in the public and private sector, including the European Parliament, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Israel, Capgemini Consulting as well as lobbying in Brussels and Berlin. Benedikt was enlisted with the German Bundeswehr for two years and is still active in their reserve forces. He is engaged in local politics, with the Young Transatlantic Initiative and within the German armed forces community.
