Carolina Matamoros is an MPP candidate at the Hertie School of Governance, an industrial engineer and holds a Master of Engineering, specialising in operational research and statistical analysis. During her time as a public servant in Colombia, she was a methodological advisor and coach for the Colombian military forces and the national police. During over four years of service, Carolina jointly developed and implemented the long-term strategic planning methodology for the security and defence sector (capability-based planning). While completing her studies, Carolina won second place in data visualisation at DataFest Germany, became a member of the NextGen@ICANN programme, and was a Research Assistant at the Hertie School. Her aim through the MPP programme is to become a bridge-builder between technical analysts and decision makers.
