Ivan Osejo Villamil holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and a Master of Science in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He has eleven years’ experience working in the Colombian public sector in the fields of poverty alleviation, inequality reduction and administrative decentralisation. He managed the database for the National Poverty Reduction Strategy – Red Unidos – gathering data on the living conditions of 1.4 million households. Ivan implemented the expansion of Jóvenes en Acción (a conditional cash transfer programme) that has allowed 50 000 young Colombians to enroll at regional universities. Additionally, at the Colombian National Department of Planning, he designed he designed methods for closing gaps between municipalities on key socioeconomic and administrative indicators.
