Helen Burmeister holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the Freie Universität Berlin. At the Hertie School of Governance and during her semester abroad at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Helen studied international affairs, focusing on climate and environmental law and governance. Her professional experience ranges from working with the German Federal Foreign Office in Paris, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GiZ) in Bogotá to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. She also interned at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), an international research institute for environmental and development issues.
