Five Questions to Ask Your Admissions Representative

Here’s our guide on how to make the most of a 30-minute call with your Hertie admissions representative

So, you’ve been admitted to the Hertie School – now what? First and foremost, congratulations! Now you find yourself amid a decision-making process. Choosing a master’s programme can be challenging and the pressure to choose the right one for you overwhelming. We know that receiving an offer of admission to a master’s programme is only the start, which is why our Student Recruitment and Admissions Team is available to support you as you navigate this decision.

In the weeks following your admission to a Hertie programme, you’ll be invited by email to book a call with one of our team members. This time is for you, your questions, and concerns, so we encourage you to spend a little time preparing for the call and make sure to write down your questions so that we can address them all in the allotted time.

If you’re not sure what to ask us, we’ve prepared a short list of some of the most commonly asked questions – the answers to which might help you in your decision-making process.

  1. What support does the school provide for international students in terms of visas, housing, and adapting to life in Berlin?
  2. What are the advantages of studying in Berlin, and how does the city complement the Hertie experience?
  3. How does the school facilitate networking and career advancement opportunities with alumni and industry professionals?
  4. Is it possible to live in Berlin without speaking German, and do you recommend learning the language before arriving?
  5. How can I decide whether this programme is the right fit for me?

We hope these questions give you a strong foundation for any further inquiries you may have. If you'd like to discuss your next steps, simply book a session using the link provided in the email from your admissions representative. We look forward to speaking with you!
