Join our Open Week from 15-19 March

A lot goes into finding the right school, choosing the right programme, applying, receiving your admission offer and finally making the decision to enrol. We know there’s a lot to consider, and we want to give you all the information needed to help you make a sound decision for your future.

Our virtual Open Week is the perfect opportunity to get to know the people who make up the Hertie School community! You can build your own schedule based on the topics you’re interested in, and ask us questions directly in the online sessions.

Open Week events are spread out from 15 to 19 March. Information sessions for individual graduate programmes – the Master of Public Policy, the Master of International Affairs, the Master of Data Science for Public Policy and the Executive Master of Public Administration – will take place twice this week. So if you can’t make it to one session, just join us for the other.

• 15 March, 5:00-6:00 pm | Faculty lecture: How effective is Germany’s COVID-19 contact tracing app?
  Simon Munzert, Assistant Professor of Data Science and Public Policy, discusses his research on Germany’s contact tracing Corona-Warn-App. Find out how you can learn the different methods he uses in your master’s programme.
• 16 March, 4:00-5:00 pm | Outside the classroom: meet our student clubs
  Meet students representing five different student clubs and get a feel for extracurricular activities and life outside your courses.
• 17 March, 5:00-6:00 pm | How do I finance my studies at the Hertie School?
  Learn more about tuition waivers, full scholarships and external funding opportunities.
• 18 March, 4:00-5:00 pm | How do I get started in Berlin?
  Visas, residence permits, bank accounts, bureaucracy – what you need to know about all the steps involved with moving to Berlin.
   

For prospective Executive MPAs

If you want more details on the flexible Executive Master of Public Administration, these events could be of particular interest.

• 15 March, 12:00-1:00 pm | Executive MPA info session
  Learn more about the programme and how you can specialise in leading innovation and managing change, digitalisation and big data, or global governance frontiers. Can’t make this session? Join the next one on the evening of 18 March.
• 18 March, 5:00-6:00 pm | How Executive MPA course planning works
  One student’s schedule can look quite different from another’s in the Executive MPA. How can you build your course schedule around your already very busy life? Programme Coordinator Juliane McCarty will be online to explain.
• 19 March, 6:00-7:00 pm | Coffee chat with Executive MPA students
  Ever wondered what the life of an Executive MPA student is like? Chat with four current students hailing from different sectors and countries.
