ARIADNE aims at providing practically relevant scientific advice on governance and policy for a successful transition to a carbon neutral society in Germany and Europe. To achieve this aim, it embeds rigorous academic research into continuous stakeholder dialogues to facilitate mutual learning and co-production of relevant knowledge. Christian Flachsland und Lion Hirth lead the Hertie School’s contribution to ARIADNE with analyses of options for designing climate policy institutions, policy instrument-mixes, policies to embed the energy transition into the international energy and climate policy context, and on electricity market design.
