Visit the Hertie School

Location

The Hertie School is in the heart of vibrant and cosmopolitan Berlin, just minutes away from the government district and other important political and historic landmarks.

Remodeled after war damage in the 1950's, it served as the GDR trade authority until reunification. Today, it is completely modernized and under monumental protection.
The Hertie School building is located in the heart of Berlin.
The iconic Brandenburg Gate is just around the corner from the Hertie School and serves as the inspiration for our logo.
Our address at Quartier 110 on Friedrichstraße dates back to Prussian times.
Let’s head inside to find out more about our campus!

Let's head inside

Get a feel for the building and amenities enjoyed by our students and guests.

Welcome to the Hertie School! Our foyer is your gateway to the Hertie School community.
Pull up a chair and enjoy a cappuccino or a home-cooked meal in our cafeteria on the main floor!
Our forum offers a very large space to host the many Hertie School public events which take place throughout the year. We hope you will join us!
Throughout campus, open spaces offer students the oportunity to study, get together and catch up with friends across programmes and cohorts…
…as well as to engage with our faculty, researchers and staff.
Our roof terrace on the third floor offers students the opportunity to take a break and enjoy the beautiful Berlin summer without leaving campus.
The kicker room has not only a table football but relaxing couches and even toys in case a student or a staff member would like to bring a child.
The Hertie School is certified as a family-friendly university and supports its members in maintaining a balance between career, or studies, and family life.

Student life

See more of what our campus has to offer.

Students enjoy small class sizes and an open-door policy for professors.
Classes, seminars and study sessions take place on all three floors.
We have a committed library team and a host of subscriptions to publications, journals and books related to fields taught at the Hertie School.
Next to our library is one of our study spaces available for students, which includes computers and plenty of plugs for personal devices.
Though Hertie School students are generally respectful of others, earplugs come in handy when exams are approaching.
Hertie School students have many amenities such as lockers and mailboxes at their disposal to make their study experience a breeze.
Our campus also hosts a variety of student events throughout the semester such as cabaret, de-stress fest and the annual pub quiz.
Berlin is a bike-friendly city and we offer indoor bicycle parking for students.
Thanks for visiting the Hertie School! We look forward to welcoming you soon.
