Athene Cook earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kenyon College in the United States. She specialised in policy analysis at the Hertie School with a focus on quantitative methods. Athene worked for two years as a wealth management analyst for J.P. Morgan in New York City prior to beginning her master’s degree. While at the Hertie School, she worked as a research assistant at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change. She also undertook a professional year at Civic Consulting, a Berlin-based economic and policy consulting firm supporting EU and international institutions as well as national governments.
