Erika Baranda focuses on strengthening the collaboration between civil society organisations (CSOs) and other public actors. While studying, she is working as a student assistant at Accountable Now, an organisation promoting international CSO accountability. Before coming to the Hertie School, she coordinated the Civil Society Consultative Group in the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Mexico, which promoted the participation of CSOs in the IDB‘s activities. Also, in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), she monitored and advised CSOs for a public programme of the Secretariat of Public Education in Mexico. She has been awarded the Helmut-Schmidt-Programme scholarship. Erika holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM).
