Isabela Vera holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Journalism and Sociology from the University of Victoria, with an exchange to Utrecht University. Isabela also has experience in project management and strategic communications in the social and private sectors. At the Hertie School, she focused on human security and participatory development while working with SEEK Development on the Donor Tracker, an online resource providing data-driven insight on global development. She took a leave of absence to work with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit’s (GiZ) Earthquake Recovery Programme in Nepal, advising on economic empowerment programmes for women in remote communities. Isabela was also executive editor of The Governance Post. Since graduating, she has spent two months consulting on gender, communications, and entrepreneurship with the GiZ.
