Jonathan Rummel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arizona, with a dual degree in Political Science and honors in Italian Language & Culture. Pursuing an interest in international politics and development, he has spent time working in Australia, Germany, Japan, India, Italy and the USA. Jonathan aims to implement the big data analysis and statistical inference skills learned while doing his MPP at the Hertie School in his professional career. His primary fields of interest lie with energy, tourism and Internet policy. Since 2018 Jonathan has been acting as one of the Executive Editors of the Hertie School’s student policy magazine, The Governance Post and is employed at the Deutsche Energie Agentur (dena), where he analyses and taps into start-up networks around the world to encourage the global energy transition to smarter and renewable energy systems.
