Joy Priya Somasundram is an MPP candidate at the Hertie School and her areas of focus lie in international trade and development as well as economic policymaking but she has also covered subjects including EU economic governance and financial policy in emerging markets. She gained professional experience working at Conway Advisory, a foreign direct investment firm based in Berlin, where she worked on economic analysis and advised private companies and economic development boards on site-selection. She also assisted with business development tasks. Joy also holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore and has interned at various corporate and arbitration firms in that city. She also worked as a research assistant to Professor Michael-Ewing Chow on issues related to international economic law and investor-state dispute settlement.
