Ricardo Salas holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, where he specialised in journalism and visual arts. Before coming to the Hertie School, he worked as a news anchor and presenter covering breaking news and moderating debates on a wide array of topics ranging from governance to health policy and international affairs. In 2015 he was awarded a scholarship by the Copenhagen Consensus Center to cover the adoption of Sustainable Development Goals in New York and has participated as a speaker in various conferences and panels. Ricardo also served as host for Xponente, a weekly radio show on entrepreneurship and business, and currently serves as an analyst and commentator for the media in his country. He has lived in Canada and France, where he spent an exchange semester at the Université Lumière Lyon 2.
