Roberto Japón Treffler holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Nebrija University in Madrid. Prior to joining the Hertie School, he worked for several years as a corporate lawyer at Ecualia Abogados, a boutique law firm, and at Allen & Overy, an international law firm, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, financing and debt restructuring transactions, and insolvency proceedings, among other issues. He also worked for his family business, leading its expansion into the Spanish tourism sector. While at the Hertie School, he studied international affairs with a focus on finance and trade and worked at Panke Consulting, a corporate affairs consultancy firm based in Berlin.
