Sophie Wellen holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from University College Maastricht, with a semester abroad at the University of California, Santa Barbara. At the Hertie School she specialised in Finance and Trade with a focus on European Governance. She is particularly interested in policymaking for financial stability. Sophie gained professional experience as an intern at the Political Advice Office of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and as an intern for a member of the liberal party at the Dutch Parliament. Alongside her studies she has been a member of AIESEC Maastricht, done business development for a start-up, and co-founded a catering service for students.
