Astrid Bräu is Policy Advisor for Sustainable Development and Strategic Planning at the German development agency GIZ. In her current position, she focusses on development finance and financial systems development. Prior to that, she worked as Executive Advisor to the management board at GIZ’s Corporate Strategy Unit. Astrid has been working in the field of development cooperation for almost 10 years. Her professional experience includes planning and managing German and international development projects, consulting for German policymakers on global governance (e.g. 2030 Agenda) and implementing development projects for NGOs in India. Astrid holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. During her Executive MPA at the Hertie School, she focused on change management, organisational development, leadership and cross-sectoral policymaking.
