Felix Garten holds a Bachelor of Arts in China Studies from the Freie Universität Berlin, where he specialised in China’s foreign and security policy, the political order in Asia-Pacific and international relations. He studied international affairs at the Hertie School, where he focused on European foreign and security policy, as well as on digital governance. During his Professional Year he worked for the German Council on Foreign Relations, the German Federal Committee on Foreign Affairs and was a policy planning staff member at the German Federal Foreign Office. In his last year at the Hertie School, Felix served as a Research Assistant for Prof. Daniela Stockmann’s Authoritarianism 2.0 project on Chinese social media. He also organised the Asia Pacific Policy Discussion Club at the Hertie School.
