Julia Gundlach holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Prior to joining the Hertie School she gained work experience in politics and journalism while working at the European Parliament and at DIE ZEIT. While studying public policy at the Hertie School she specialised in new digital technologies – one of her central areas of academic interests – and how they shape societies. Julia also participated in the Professional Year programme, where she worked in the Economic Policy Department of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. After graduation, Julia will take up the position of Manager of International Affairs for the Forum Digital Technologies at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence in Berlin.
