María-José Juárez Rodríguez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration, combined with a Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking. For the last nine years, she has dedicated her life to being a social entrepreneur. Her professional journey started in 2010 when she founded Mexiro, an NGO focusing on social impact, especifically on sustainable development and empowerment of women, in Mexico her home country. She has worked in the public, private and third sectors on assignments ranging from campaigns for political parties to managing accounts in Latin America, such as Boiler Room. Currently, she is coaching on the topic of design thinking at the Hasso Plattner Institute at the University of Potsdam. She has also co-founded aequa, a community knowledge-sharing space in Berlin which aims to enable all women, trans, and non-binary people to thrive by means of gatherings for interpersonal exchange.
