Quirin Sackman completed a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies at Heidelberg University and at Trinity College in Connecticut, focusing on US foreign policy and history. At the Hertie School, he then focused on increasing his understanding of conflicts, European and global affairs, and different countries’ security and foreign policies. Moreover, he honed his abilities in communicating these and other complex matters to different audiences. During a Professional Year in a Berlin public affairs agency, Quirin combined these skills and built upon prior journalistic experience to work on a diverse set of issues, ranging from aiding European governments’ communication to organising events and coordinating development projects in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Supervised by Wolfgang Ischinger, he analysed Georgia’s recent foreign policy for his master’s thesis.
