Sandy Quimbaya is the Resident Director for the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Tanzania, having previously served as Resident Director in Malawi, Angola and Ecuador. In Tanzania, she is supporting a national coalition to promote citizen engagement in electoral processes and inclusive political participation. She is an international development professional with more than 17 years’ experience in programme management in multiple international contexts, primarily in Latin America, the Caribbean and the Southern and East Africa regions. She has designed and contributed to initiatives that have strengthened the organisational development of political parties and increased the political inclusion of women and youth. Sandy earned her Executive MPA at the Hertie School and graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.
