Sophia Engel holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School, where she focused on climate and sustainability policy. Alongside her studies, she worked as a Student Assistant at McKinsey & Company. Sophia’s previous work experience includes her role as a Policy Officer at the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, where she acted as point person for issues related to bilateral cooperation. In addition, she interned with the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Nations in New York, as well as at the German Bundestag. Over the course of her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations at Malmö University, she explored questions related to the role of international negotiations in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
