Vera Weidmann focused on security and development policy and political economy during her studies at the Hertie School and her exchange semester at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She is particularly interested in the impact of economic and social inequality on political decision-making and the challenges of digitisation. Previously, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies and Economics in Osnabrück and Istanbul. Vera gained professional experience as a policy advisor with the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses. During her graduate studies, she worked as a research associate for the Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection at the German Bundestag.
