Yilmaz Akkoyun has five years’ work experience in the German and European governments as well as in the private sector. As Julius G. Blocker and KAS Scholar he graduated within the Global Public Policy Network dual degree programme from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs with a Master of Public Administration (MPA) concentrating in International Finance and Economic Policy. During his MPA, he worked for the United Nations Capital Development Fund as Graduate Consultant. Before and during his studies at the Hertie School, Yilmaz worked at the German Federal Foreign Office in the division for humanitarian assistance. He has excellent analytical skills and expertise in policy analysis, strategy and diplomacy. As an SDG Professional Certificate Fellow, he is passionate about sustainable development, cross-sector collaborations and economic policy.
