Anna Lena Woidelko holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development from the University of Vienna. Prior to the Hertie School she worked at the Sustainable Economic Development Programme of the German development agency GIZ in Mozambique and as a consultant for several development projects. At the Hertie School she studied public policy and pursued her interest in development policy and migration. She also discovered her passion for international law and fundamental rights and focused on international relations and security. In her thesis she analysed the possible forms of implementation of a human rights monitoring mechanism at the EU external border from an institutional and legal perspective. Anna Lena is particularly interested in the intersection of migration, fundamental rights, security and development.
