Henrik Enderlein thanks students for their contribution to the community in Academic Year 2018/19.
Students who gave their time to major volunteer initiatives at the Hertie School in the Academic Year 2018/19 were honoured at a reception on 20 May with President Henrik Enderlein and Director of Graduate Programmes and Professor of European Politics Christine Reh.
"We know that your efforts will inspire future and current students to continue to build upon what you have provided and accomplished this year, and we would like to once again extend a massive thank you for all that you have done," Enderlein told the students.
Representatives from several major student volunteer groups were honoured: students involved in the Hertie School Helps initiative, which performs community service outside the school, in particular teaching young people with migrant backgrounds at Berlin's Quinoa School; members of the student government association, Hertie Student Representatives (HSR); Peer Advisors, who assist students in need of counselling or other services; alongside student assistants, were lauded for their efforts this year.
"All these roles have been of enormous value to the whole Hertie School community and your efforts are indispensable for the school, as are the many contributions of all of our students throughout the year," said Judith Zylla, Manager of Student Affairs.
The reception was followed by a boat ride and barbecue on Berlin's Spree river.
