Suder will contribute to research, teaching and public debate with a special focus on the school’s Centre for International Security Policy.
Berlin, 26 October 2018 – Katrin Suder, Chairperson of the Advisory Council on Digitalisation to the German Federal Government and former State Secretary for the German Federal Ministry of Defence, joins the Hertie School of Governance as Senior Fellow from 1 November. She will contribute to research, teaching and public debate at the Berlin university. In particular, she will focus on the theme of cyber security as part of the ongoing development of the school’s Centre for International Security Policy, led by Wolfgang Ischinger.
Katrin Suder, who is already affiliated with the Hertie School as a member of its Board of Trustees, strengthens the group of experienced governance experts who support the school as Senior Fellows. They include the former EU Commissioner Lázló Andor, the Chairman of the German Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee Norbert Röttgen, and the former former EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana. The first public event with Katrin Suder as part of her fellowship will take place on 9 November at 12 p.m. at the Hertie School. She will discuss, “Defence, cyber and artificial intelligence” with Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger and Constanze Stelzenmüller, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution.
