Dual MPP with Sciences Po

Sciences Po’s School of Public Affairs in Paris and the Hertie School of Governance have joined forces to offer a dual master’s degree programme in public policy.

This 2-year programme combines the study of economics, public policy and management. It is designed for young professionals who navigate the borders of the public and private sectors and want to gain expertise in the management and evaluation of public policy in the European context.

During the first year, students are enrolled in Sciences Po’s MPP programme and take courses in Paris. In the summer after the first year, students move directly to Berlin and are enrolled in the Hertie School’s MPP programme. Before graduating at the end of the second year, students must complete a full-time internship of at least 6 weeks, which is usually done in the summer between year 1 and year 2. It is not possible to take a gap year.

Students pay the tuition fees stipulated by their host institution (Sciences Po for the first year, and the Hertie School for the second year).

The dual degree programme in public policy is open to candidates worldwide. Admission is competitive, based largely on academic excellence and professional focus. Please visit Sciences Po's website for more information on how to apply.

For more information on the first year at Sciences Po, please contact the academic coordinators of the School of Public Affairs. For more information on the second year at the Hertie School, please contact grad-admissions(at)hertie-school.org.
