Ambassador Series: Brazil

The Hertie International Relations Club is proud to present the Ambassador Series with His Excellency Roberto Jaguaribe, Ambassador of Brazil to Germany. This event is open to the Hertie Community only.

His Excellency Roberto Jaguaribe has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Federal Republic of Germany since February 2019. H.E. Roberto Jaguaribe started his diplomatic career in 1978. He has previously occupied high level positions not only in the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also in the Federal Government sphere.

From 1983 to 1987 H.E. Roberto Jaguaribe was a member of the Brazilian delegation to the United Nations. Between 2000 and 2003, he worked as Minister Advisor in the Brazilian embassy in Washington D.C. As a member of the State Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brasilia, H.E. Jaguaribe was general sub-secretary for Politics, in charge for managing foreign policies for Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific (2007-2010).

Before Germany, H.E. Roberto Jaguaribe was the Brazilian ambassador to the UK (2010-2015) and to the People’s Republic of China (2015-2016).

This initiative led by the International Relations Club gives Hertie School students the opportunity to engage in an informative dialogue with top-level diplomats from diverse countries in an expressly informal setting - without the rigidity created by the presence of media representatives and other third parties. It poses a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the diplomatic profession. This event is part of the 2019-20 edition of the Ambassador Series at the Hertie School.

We look forward to seeing you in the Forum! Refreshments will be provided at the end of the talk.
