Join us for a lecture with Prof. Waltraud Schelkle (LSE) speaking about "Monetary solidarity in the long recovery from the Corona pandemic".
What are possible and desirable scenarios for the future of the European Union? For its “Future of Europe lecture series”, the Jacques Delors Centre invites renowned scholars and intellectuals to debate and share insights into their research. The lecture series is organised in the framework of CIVICA, the European University of Social Sciences, and receives funding from the German Academic Exchange Service.
In the series' first installment, Waltraud Schelkle, Professor in Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science, will speak on "Monetary solidarity in the long recovery from the Corona pandemic". In her presentation, Professor Schelkle will apply the theory of inter-state risk-sharing she develops in her seminal book "The political economy of monetary solidarity: revisiting the Euro experiment" (Oxford University Press, 2017) to the Euro area's current predicament.
