CANCELLED - Human rights due diligence in the arms trade: Tilting at windmills?

Tara van Ho is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Essex School of Law and Human Rights Centre. Her main research interests are business and human rights, investment law and human rights, economic, social and cultural rights, and transitional justice. She is the co-President of the Global Business and Human Rights Scholars Association and sits on the Editorial Board of the Business and Human Rights Journal. She is one of the leaders of the Essex Business and Human Rights Project, through which she advises states, intergovernmental organisations, non-governmental organisations, and businesses on issues of business, investment, and human rights. Tara has taught business and human rights on summer schools in India, Italy, France, and at the prestigious Abo Akademi in Finland. She studied law at the University of Cincinnati and was a licensed attorney in the US State of Ohio until January 2019. She holds an LLM in International Human Rights Law and PhD in Law from the University of Essex. Her PhD thesis explored the impact international investment law can have on transitional justice initiatives in states emerging from conflict and authoritarianism.
