The Hertie School hosted the official launch of the EU-wide research project Coordinating for Cohesion in the Public Sector of the Future (COCOPS) on 25 January 2011. As part of this project 25 researchers from 11 universities in ten EU member states will, under the leadership of Hertie School Professor Gerhard Hammerschmid, work together over three years to explore various aspects of the public sector of the future. With a budget of nearly 2,7 million €, this is one of the largest comparative public management research projects in Europe to date.
