22 April 2017 | March for Science Berlin

The Hertie School is proud to support those marching for science and democracy.

On 22 April, people throughout the world will march in support of science as an indispensable part of democracy in the “March for Science.”

The purpose of the march is to bring an awareness to the dangers of being hostile towards science and the implications for our democracy. The march’s motto is: “There is no alternative to facts.”

The Hertie School is proud to support Berlin’s March for Science, which begins at 1pm on 22 April in front of the Humboldt University of Berlin (Unter den Linden 6). Supporters will then march to the Brandenburg Gate.

Saturday 22 April 2017, beginning at 1pm

Meeting at Humboldt University of Berlin (Unter den Linden 6)

We will make a special stop in front of the Hungarian Embassy: A new law of the Hungarian government might lead to the closure of the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest. This is an extreme measure harming academic freedom in Hungary and the 'March for Science' clearly positions itself against this.

We encourage participating Hertie School students, faculty and staff to tag the Hertie School on Facebook and Twitter with your best photos and selfies and to use #sciencemarchBER.

If you are interested in participating, please message events[at]hertie-school[dot]org
