Pan-European parties: A brighter future for political representation?

The European Union has often been accused of being too distant from European citizens. But how can this distance be bridged? And how can political representation be improved in EU bodies? One way to tackle these issues is through the creation of pan-European parties, which strive to overcome the divides between national voters and EU institutions. One such party is Volt, founded in 2017 by a Hertie School alumnus.

Join Dr. Thu Nguyen (Jacques Delors Centre), Hertie School alumni Damian Boeselager (MEP, Volt), Dr. Lucy Kinski (University of Salzburg) and Dr. Maurits Meijers (Radboud University) as they discuss the opportunities and challenges facing pan-European parties in their goals of furthering political representation in the EU.
