Policy & Pizza: Iran and the Current War in the Middle East

Join guest speaker Dr. Ali Fathollah-Nejad, founder & director of the Center for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG), for a Policy & Pizza session discussing the current conflict in the Middle East, with a focus on the role of Iran.

Join guest speaker Dr. Ali Fathollah-Nejad, founder and director of the Center for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG) and external lecturer at the Hertie School, for a Policy & Pizza session discussing the latest outbreak of violence in the Middle East, with a focus on the Iranian role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as future prospects for Iran´s relationship with the West in light of the recent US elections.

As with our ‘Policy and Pizza’ sessions, this is an opportunity to engage directly with practitioners and leaders shaping the world of policy and international relations in a meaningful way. Bring your questions!

This discussion is being held in collaboration with the Center for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG)The event is public, will be in English, and will be hosted at the AYOKA Event Space in Berlin. There will be no live stream. Due to limited seating, registration is required.

Free drinks and pizza will be served from 6:00 pm, and the talk will begin at 6:30 pm.

  • Dr. Ali Fathollah-Nejad is a German–Iranian political scientist and author with a focus on Iran, the Middle East, and the post-unipolar world order. 
    He is Founder and Director of the Center for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG), a think-tank devoted to exploring transformations and promoting a foreign policy that reconciles interests and values.

    He currently teaches Middle East politics and international security at the Hertie School in Berlin and is also a Fellow with the University of Bonn’s Center for Advanced Security, Strategic and Integration Studies (CASSIS).

    His forthcoming book is titled "Iran – How the West is Betraying its Values and Interests", with a foreword by former German Iran correspondent Natalie Amiri.
