Panel discussion with Asha Manoharan (MPP 2017), IOM, Akram Yacob (MPP 2018), Market Logic Software, Victoria Boeck (MPP 2017), Technologiestiftung Berlin and Maya Carr-Hill, Bundesagentur für Arbeit (German Employment Agency).
The job entry phase is demanding for most graduates, but breaking into the German labor market as an international graduate comes with specific challenges – from language barriers to cultural difference to trying to navigate a system without long established networks.
During this panel international alumni from the Hertie School will share their experience of entering the German labor market and give valuable advice to current students: Asha Manoharan (MPP 2017) is originally from India and now works at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as a Data Analyst; Akram Yacob (MPP 2018) from Singapore is a Consultant at Market Logic Software; and Victoria Boeck (MPP 2017) from the United States is an Open Data Researcher at Technologiestiftung Berlin.
They will be joined by Maya Carr-Hill from the Agentur für Arbeit (the German Employment Agency) who will share her perspective as a British national and talk about services for international graduates.
After short initial statements you will have plenty of time for your questions and discussion.
