Let's celebrate our 2020 and 2021 cohorts!
We are looking forward to celebrating the tremendous accomplishments of the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 at our upcoming virtual graduation celebration on 17 June.
Below you will find a link to the virtual ceremony which you can share with family and friends. To note the video itself won’t be visible until 17 June and will remain available for several weeks afterwards.
The virtual ceremony gives you as graduates the opportunity to gather online along with your family, friends and the Hertie community to celebrate your accomplishments – no matter where you might be joining from.
Thursday, 17 June 2021 I 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm CEST | Hertie School's YouTube channel
There will be a separate ceremony for each graduating class - both ceremonies will go live on 17 June at 2:00 pm.
Info and FAQs
COVID-19 regulations have been adjusting continuously over the last months; planning for a larger in-person ceremony was not possible.
We will be featuring the ceremony online on 17 June and will host a smaller in-person viewing at the Hertie School.
The Communications/Events team looked into different open-air options to host an onsite ceremony for graduates. Ultimately, without knowing how many households will be able to gather together this summer here in Berlin, planning for such a scenario proved very difficult.
We are committed to hosting a larger celebration to bring together as many graduates and alumni as possible, when it is safety and hygiene measures allow to do so. Ultimately, travel restrictions to Germany will dictate our planning. We will provide updates and a Save the Date or invitation for a future celebration as soon as possible. This event will not feature a formal convocation of graduates, but will be a party that gathers as many people together as possible.
Scarves will be sent via the graduation gift. Degrees will be sent by the examinations office separately. You should ensure your address is up to date and accurate via MyStudies, or provide a relevant mailing address to email@example.com.
As last year, the poster session will be organised online. The poster exhibition and Award Ceremony will be hosted later this summer in a virtual format.
If you want to collect the package from the Hertie School, you can do so between 7 and 16 June from 10 am to 6 pm from Room 1.56 – just knock! Alternatively we will also have gifts available for collection on 17 June.
Gifts to graduates
To celebrate your accomplishments and to make the virtual celebration still a special moment shared the with family, friends, and fellow classmates, we are sending a special gift to the graduates of the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021. You can also pick it up at the Hertie School between 7 and 16 June.
This package contains a few tokens to help make this ceremony all the more memorable – including the graduation scarf for the Class of 2021. We are doing our best that these packages will arrive in time – meanwhile make sure we received your current address and stay tuned and get ready to join us on 17 June!
